What is involved in becoming a PADI Divemaster?
PADI Divemaster is someone one who is able to lead dives and assist with dive training and is the first step to becoming a dive professional.
This course consists of Knowledge Development which is done during your own time via elearning, although you have access to experienced Dive Zone Tauranga instructors at all times if you have any questions. Water Development where you will be assessed on your waterman ship skills including timed swims and fine tune your diver rescue skills and Practical Skills.
The practical skills is the real deal, you will be working alongside experienced instructors , leading dives, assisting and preparing for training courses with actual students and divers.
You can complete this course at your own pace, there will be a number of scheduled days to complete the water development skills and you will join us on our regular dive trips and courses to complete the practical skills.
If you don't have the required prerequisites please talk to us about how you can start working toward these prior to starting the divemaster programme.
- Pre Requisites
- PADI Open Water
- PADI Advanced
- PADI Rescue certifications (or equivalent)
- 40 logged dives
- PADI Medical form signed by doctor
- Current First Aid Certificate
Price of $2500 includes:
- PADI Divemaster elearning
- Free use of tanks, weights and hire equipment throughout the course
- 20 (approx) full training days - these days can be booked in to suit your schedule
