Learn to Dive while still at school
Learn to dive and achieve NCEA Credits while you are still at school!
As a delivery site for the Academy of Diving Trust, Dive Zone Tauranga delivers recreational dive and snorkel training using the PADI Teaching system to a number of local secondary schools as well as those from further afield. Many of the out of town schools make this experience a 4 day camp for their students.
Each Level of the PADI Recreational dive courses align with Level 3 unit standards which are ideal for Outdoor Education, Marine Studies, and Earth Science courses.
PADI Open Water Course - Unit Standard 28392. 7 Level 3 Credits
- 4 days
- 8-10 Hours of online learning (to be completed prior to arrival)
- Certified to 18m max depth
PADI Advanced Course - Various unit standards available
- 2 days, 5 dives
- 6 Hours of online learning (to be completed prior to arrival)
- Certified to 30m max depth
PADI Rescue Course - Unit Standard 28395. 7 Level 3 Credits
Course Details:
- 2 days plus first aid course
- 6 Hours of online learning (to be completed prior to arrival)
Year 12 & 13 Students in the Bay of Plenty also have the option of completing the NZ Certificate in Diving Foundation 1 days per week during school terms as part of the Bay of Plenty Futures Academy. Contact your school careers advisor to find out if you are eligible.
